Meet Paul Calderon

Paul Calderon represents a new generation of Ecuadorian realism. His work brings figurative painting into a contemporary light through intimate compositions, natural luminosity and emotional depth.

Born and trained in Quito - Ecuador, and connected to the world of art from an early age, Calderon has developed a distinctive visual language centered around oil painting, natural light and the human figure. His paintings echo the tradition of the great classical masters while speaking unmistakably from Latin America, through its faces, skin tones, silences and everyday gestures.

For collectors seeking refined Latin American art with technical mastery and timeless elegance, Paul Calderon offers contemporary figurative painting with classical roots and a uniquely Ecuadorian sensibility.

Press Features

Paul works exclusively with natural daylight, believing that the sun provides the perfect luminosity for his canvases. For this reason, he avoids painting at night, choosing instead to create in harmony with the rhythms of nature. Despite this self-imposed discipline, he dedicates more than eight hours each day to his craft, embracing the slow, meticulous, and highly demanding process that defines his work.

His paintings are distinguished by their thoughtful compositions, the harmony of lines and forms, and a masterful use of light as a powerful means of expression.
